They say, “Go find something you love to do, then find a job doing it.” They say, “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” They say, “Time flies when you’re having fun.” In my 27 years with the Alliance, I can confirm they are correct! While it hasn’t always been fun, given the intense issues we manage, it has always been meaningful, challenging, rewarding and yes, at times, fun. Having worked with and on behalf of some of the greatest people in the world, all striving for continuous improvement while playing critical roles in producing food for our nation and beyond, my gratitude for the Alliance is tremendous.
I am proud of the work we’ve done over the years that I know has made a difference. We’ve led many initiatives and developed many resources that have helped safeguard animal ag in the wake of activist campaigns. There are too many to list here, but our current initiatives such as College Aggies Online, Animal Ag Allies, the Stakeholders Summit, and our engagement with influencers and media continue to make a positive impact on the future of animal ag.
With my recent move to Texas with my husband and our black lab, I’m excited to be joining the team of longtime Alliance member Dairy MAX and look forward to continuing working on behalf of their great dairy farmers. I leave knowing the Alliance is in great hands under Hannah’s leadership and with the most amazing team. This includes Casey, Emily and some new team members who will soon be joining to help carry on the critical mission of the Alliance.
I encourage all stakeholders in the ag and food industries to whole-heartedly support the Alliance – both in deed and financially – I know I will be in my new role. In the meantime, thanks to all of you who have trusted me to lead the Alliance all these years. You have enriched my life personally and professionally, and you continue to be the why behind the Alliance’s mission. I hope to see you at Summit in Kansas City, and if you get to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, please don’t be a stranger!
