We live in the information age. Most people can become partially educated on any subject through a quick google search and 10-12 minutes of scrolling. Unfortunately, it can be very difficulty to get accurate information about agriculture on the internet.
Farmers and ranchers are using technology to improve animal health, welfare, reproduction, record keeping and much more.
1. Scary Food Myth: Today’s farm animals are raised on “factory farms” in poor conditions. Truth: Many of today’s farms may be larger than farms of the past, but the farms are also have better animal care practices, enhanced nutrition and housing. Indoor housing protects animals from predators, disease and extreme weather. Modern housing is well-ventilated, temperature-controlled and scientifically designed to meet an animal’s specific needs.
Should we use animals to save human lives? I’m not talking about the big picture, philosophical debate. I’m talking about standing next to a loved one’s bedside in the hospital room and wondering if you’ll see them tomorrow, if they’ll get to celebrate another birthday, if he’ll be there to walk me down the aisle.
