Demystifying the Blogosphere: Summit to Offer Tips on Engaging Online Moms

March 22, 2013 – Don’t wait to register to attend a one-of-a-kind conference that is attended by a diverse group of decision makers, including representatives from farms, ranches, food processors, restaurants, grocery stores, legislators, universities and government agencies and hosts many experts in the industry. The early registration deadline for the Animal Agriculture Alliance’s Twelfth Annual Stakeholders Summit is April 15.
The Summit’s theme, “Activists at the Door: Protecting Animals, Farms, Food & Consumer Confidence,” will feature discussions on the crucial issues facing the future of the animal agriculture industry, from activism to legislation. The Summit will bring a fresh perspective to how farmers and food producers can better communicate with consumers who are eager to learn more about where their food comes from.
The event will include a highly-anticipated panel discussion entitled: “Demystifying the Blogosphere: How to Engage Online Moms,” and will include esteemed bloggers Joanne Bamberger and Sarah Braesch; as well as David Wescott, the Director of Digital Strategy for APCO Worldwide.
David Wescott is the Director of Digital Strategy and directs the social media team for APCO Worldwide, where he develops and implements online outreach strategies on issues such as health care, education, energy, the environment, feminism andhousing finance.
A “recovering attorney” who also has a degree in political science, Joanne Bamberger is an award-winning journalist and noted political blogger. Joanne was
one of the first Internet voices speaking about the intersection of women and mothers online and political/social activism with her blog, PunditMom. She is also the author of the Amazon bestselling book Mothers of Intention: How Women & Social Media are Revolutionizing Politics in America. Joanne regularly contributes political commentary to a variety of outlets, including MSNBC, CNN, Fox News, XM Radio POTUS and more.
Sarah Braesch is a prolific blogger and journalist. Sarah’s home base is Sarah and the Goon Squad but she can also be found writing for Draft Day Suit, her Babble Voices blog – That’s Right. You Heard Me, Aiming Low, Insert Eyeroll, BlogHer, and Sarah Reviews Stuff Here. Sarah also is a popular panelist and has participated at events for BlogHer, Mom 2.0, Blogs With Balls, The DC Social Media Club, and numerous others. Born in Ohio, raised in Tampa, Sarah now resides in the Washington, D.C. metro area with her husband and fraternal twins.

Early registration for the one-and-a-half day event is $325 for Alliance members and $375 for non-members. The Alliance is offering a special rate of $275 for those in government or academia.
