Identify animal agriculture’s “big, hairy, audacious goal” at 2024 Stakeholders Summit
Registration for in person event closes May 3; Virtual recording pass available for this year’s Stakeholders Summit
April 24, 2024 – J.J. Jones, executive director of the National Institute for Animal Agriculture (NIAA), will guide attendees in identifying animal agriculture’s “big, hairy, audacious goal” in the closing session of the Animal Agriculture Alliance’s 2024 Stakeholders Summit. Registration for the event, set for May 8-9 in Kansas City, Mo., closes on May 3. Register here: https://bit.ly/AAA24. The Alliance is now offering a recording only pass for attendees not able to join in person.
Animal agriculture has had millennia of successes in the food system, but does it have a “big, hairy, audacious goal” (BHAG) that it’s working towards? BHAGs are aspirational in format and serve to inspire innovation and creativity. During the session “Crossing the Finish Line: What is Animal Agriculture’s BHAG?,” Jones will round out the 2024 Summit exploring why animal agriculture needs a collective BHAG and how individuals and organizations can ensure animal agriculture continues to be a creative and innovative sector in today’s food system.
“Progress in areas such as animal welfare, environmental stewardship, and responsible antibiotic use within the animal agriculture community is a journey, not a destination,” said Hannah Thompson-Weeman, president and CEO, Animal Agriculture Alliance. “While we’ve made incredible strides in these areas already, there’s always room for improvement. Identifying where we want the animal agriculture community to be years down the road takes consideration now. J.J. will start that conversation with 2024 Summit attendees who will leave with a plan to tackle those future goals.”
