Charleston|Orwig to explore Consumer Perspectives on Food Labels at 2018 Stakeholders Summit

Early registration rates for Animal Agriculture Alliance Summit end April 10

April 5, 2018 – Mark Gale will share Charleston|Orwig’s research about consumer perspectives on food labels at the Animal Agriculture Alliance’s 2018 Stakeholders Summit set for May 3-4 at the Renaissance Capital View Hotel in Arlington, Va. Discounted early registration fees are available through April 10. To register, visit https://animalagalliance.org/summit.

Over the past 30 years, Gale has made the journey from police beat reporter at the daily Tampa Times to creative director to partner and CEO at Charleston|Orwig. He has kept a keen eye on digital communications from the very beginning. While he prefers to spend time helping clients develop proactive corporate social responsibility and sustainability practices, he also gets in the trenches to work on crisis communications.

Research by the Charleston|Orwig team and their partners reveals how declining trust in the food system and increased interest in transparency are reshaping the value of food labels and how protein consumption trends may change in the face of a new era. Covering everything from the what consumers look for on labels, to the perception of antibiotics, to expectations of animal welfare certifications, to the texture of meat products, this insightful research walks through how the industry can expect to adjust to a changing world.

“Gale will explore questions like how labels are influencing consumer interest in animal production practices and what concerns exist in the alternative protein space,” said Kay Johnson Smith, Alliance president and CEO. “We are eager to hear about what the future of food labels may look like and how the agriculture industry can evolve with them.”
