Animal Agriculture Alliance Announces 2016 Stakeholders Summit
Event will be themed “Securing Animal Agriculture’s Future: Action, Please!”
December 14, 2015 –After taking its annual Stakeholders Summit on the road last year, the Animal Agriculture Alliance announced today that the event will return to the Washington, DC area for 2016. The 2016 Stakeholders Summit, themed “Securing Animal Agriculture’s Future: Action, Please!” is set for May 5-6 at the Westin Arlington Gateway in Arlington, Va.
This year’s event will focus on securing a bright future for animal agriculture by finding solutions to the challenges facing the industry today. Attendees will hear from thought-provoking speakers, participate in engaging discussions and leave with actionable ideas that they can immediately implement on their operations or in their businesses.
“Following a very successful 2015 Summit in Kansas City, we are excited to bring that positive momentum into 2016,” said Kay Johnson Smith, Alliance president and CEO. “We know that as leaders in animal agriculture, you are well aware of the challenges facing your business and our industry. Our Summit will provide you with the ideas and tools you need to take action to address issues like connecting throughout the supply chain, engaging with consumers and customers, and protecting the industry from damaging misinformation.”
The Stakeholders Summit is a one-of-a-kind conference attended by a diverse group of decision makers, including representatives from farms, ranches, food processors, restaurants, grocery stores, legislatures, universities and government agencies. The Alliance will once again welcome Andy Vance, renowned agricultural journalist for Feedstuffs and active National Association of Farm Broadcasting (NAFB) member, as the 2016 Summit moderator.
More details on 2016 Summit speakers will be released over the next few months, but for now, we urge industry stakeholders to mark their calendars for the May 2016 event.
“The Alliance’s Summit continues to be one of the best meetings I attend all year,” said Terry Wehrkamp, director of live production at Cooper Farms. “If you work in or depend on animal agriculture, you need to add this event to your plans for next year.”
