Placing animal rights issues on state ballots and using propaganda to appeal to the emotions of voters is becoming a favored tactic among animal activist organizations. Ballot campaigns that outlaw common, science-based farm practices are detrimental to the state's animals, farmers, and economy. Farmers' knowledge of animal husbandry, not activist-led smear campaigns, should dictate animal care.
